When it's Worth the 3am Start

I took a recent drive out to Killarney Beach near Warrnambool in Victoria. Up and out of the house in Melbourne by 3.00am to make it to the beach in time for sunrise. It was worth getting up at that ridiculous hour because the dawn was a wonderful orange that lit the ocean, turning it into honey. Standing waist deep in the surf, with waves occasionally breaking across my chest, I was too happy to feel the chill of the Spring tide. Once the sun was sitting higher in the sky the wonderful deep greens of the ocean began appearing and the faces of the waves were smooth like glass.
