Getting up early to get the right shot is all part of the fun of photography for me. I'm not a natural early riser, so when I manage to get decent shots for the effort of being up well before the sun in chill of an overcast and drizzly Autumn morning, it is a great sense of satisfaction. I recently did a sunrise and sunset shot on the same day. Sunrise at Williamstown, and then sunset in the city later that evening. Both times the sky was completely grey so Iopted for long exposure. The city shot gave me a chance to try out my new six stop filter and get a six minute exposure of the skyline overlooking the Yarra River. The shot was worth standing around in the cool evening for.
